The final event of the 2016/2017 TXVC calendar will be hosted by Thames Valley Triathletes, details as follows:
Date: Sunday 5th February 2017, 11:00 race start
Race Venue and Parking: St Neots School, St Neots Road, Eversley nr Hook, RG27 0PN (off the A327 in Eversley). Parking is in the school. Please lift share wherever possible and take guidance from the car park marshals to ensure we can maximise the car parking space.
Course: We will once again be running the course on Bramshill Common Wood courtesy of the Forestry Commission. The race start is a 10 minute walk through the school grounds, across Bramshill Road (take care when crossing) and passed the barrier entry in to the woods. Marshals and signage will direct you to the start point which is the best place for teams to set up camp on the field there. As always we ask that all runners show courtesy to all other users of the common as without the Forestry Commission approval and the support of the local communities we would not be able to run this event. The course is same as last year, 9.5km with a mixed terrain of forestry paths and trails. Some of the trails are compact and therefore spikes are not recommended.
Other Details: Race packs can be collected at the race start from the TVT marshals at the start/finish line. We will be using finish discs. Please return your score sheets and discs to the marshals at the finish line or to the TVT reps in the refreshment area. Refreshments will be served back at the school on the dining hall (adjoining the cricket pitch). No dirty shoes in the dinning hall please. Portaloos will be available in the school grounds.
Most importunately enjoy the race, look after the venue please as we want to keep coming back and good luck to all running on the day.
Wayne @ TVT
Start time: 11:00 a.m.
Metros fixture will be at Hillingdon House Farm Fields again this year, our base will be in Hillingdon Athletics Stadium (post code UB8 1ES) where there are changing rooms toilet facilities and refreshments. There is some parking there which is pay and display, there is also parking in the surrounding roads.
The nearest exit from the A40 is Swakleys roundabout, either the first exit and then first right down Warren Road, and there is a footpath over the A40 to Hillingdon House Farm Fields. The other option is the third exit off Swakleys roundabout (B483) there is a turn off to the left to the Stadium or going down Honeycroft Hill and parking around in the surrounding road, North Way is the way to the start, but there is no where to park along that road, where is also a way into the field from Sweetcroft Lane. There are also car parks in Uxbridge if you do not mind about a 20 minute walk.
The course will be slightly different from last year, it will still be three laps, with the first lap is the longest, the second will go over the old ski slope by a different route and also come through the woods by another path, and the third lap will also be changed. The second and third go through the River Pinn, for those runners who really do not wish to go through the Pinn there is an alternative route, but slightly longer.
The course is suitable for spikes.
Please remove muddy footwear before entering the Stadium.
If you look at the Google map the marker is in the wrong place, to find where we are, look down and slightly to the left.
